Easter Weekend over next Anzac Day

Well Easter came and went so quickly if you blinked you would have missed it. Our new friends returned from their break looking refreshed and happy. By all reports even with the wet weather the campers handled everything nicely. Next long weekend is just around the corner as we remember those who have served us all so faithfully, many of who made the ultimate sacrafice which allows us to live in freedom in this great country of ours. For the Aussie All Trails team this is a particularly pertant day with one member having served for 20 years in the Navy.
A group that our mate travels with go to a different dawn service each year. Last year was Rockingham WA and this year is Albany. Why not do the same?

Aussie All Trails latest Adventure

Well the team head south and based ourselves in Majimup WA. We stayed at Fonty's Pool caravan park. Fonty's pool has a 4 star RAC rating and Gil and I agree that this is a fare rating. There is little more you could ask for at Fonty's Pool it has a wonderful spring feed pool filled with tyre tubs for the kids and the young at heart, clean facilities and a great camp kitchen.
Pemberton, no trip is complete without a visit to Pemberton, this time we visited the King Trout Restaurant & Marron Farm and did a little fishing. What fun this was, after catching a few trout we had the great team cook it up for us with a big basket of chips and another with salad.
We then headed to the wineries, some of the dirt access roads can be a little corrigated however by taking it nice and easy you will get in and out without to many problems. Wine is very much a tast thing so try before you buy. I know we came away few bottles :.
We then visited the Glouster tree. This is fire watch tree and yes you can climb it. Gill got about a third of the way up before getting puffed out and I have to admit I only go a little further before the thighs were burning. You will need to be fit to get to the top.
Some of the best places to visit were the visitor centers many such as Pemberton and Bridgetown have added extra's such as small museums and local fauner. For us Bridgetown was expecially good with a puzzel art gallery, when travlling south Bridgetown (which is located about half way between Perth and Albany) a few minutes at the local tourist centre is well worth it.
Another enjoyable spot was 'The Cidery' John informs me that this is listed on the 'Lonley Planet' guide. It has a mixture of apple ciders and beer. Another spot well worth a visit and if you are hungry a good spot to have a bite.
Well that's it for this trip, stay tuned for the next
